Bob Dylan the artist?
His paintings appear to have just as mixed reviews as his songs…
Anyone lucky enough to be in London at the moment should head down to Halcyon Gallery to check out works by world renowned recording artist Bob Dylan. The Drawn Blank Series by Dylan consists of 98 paintings based on drawings he produced on the road between 1989 and 1992. The images have a very American feel; diners, railroad tracks and such but done in acid colors. Thus far the reviews are very mixed as to whether or not there is any talent involved in his artworks; some compare it to the work of children others say it is brilliant, but as I have not had a chance yet to see the series in its entirety I must go with; not bad….for an amateur….Let us know what you think.

I was a little disappointed by the prints available for sale. Some of the work I’ve seen in past is far more interesting. But since you seem to be a fan of Bob, I thought I’d introduce you to my new novel, BLOOD ON THE TRACKS, which I think you’d enjoy. It’s not painting, but it does paint quite a picture.
It’s a murder-mystery. But not just any rock superstar is knocking on heaven’s door. The murdered rock legend is none other than Bob Dorian, an enigmatic, obtuse, inscrutable, well, you get the picture…
Suspects? Tons of them. The only problem is they’re all characters in Bob’s songs.
